Joint pain solutions that should make you skeptical

In New York and beyond, joint pain is unfortunately common. A basic online search can give you a good breakdown of what might be to blame for your pain as well as how to identify if your aches are a symptom of a larger issue. Sadly, the Internet is also full of unreasonable advice for treating chronic pain. Although many sites are well-meaning, others are trying to take advantage of an individual’s discomfort by being misleading for a profit or other reason. Below are a few “solutions” that you should be skeptical of.

Overnight cures

Have you ever seen an advertisement for a pill or supportive brace that promises to fix your ailments overnight? If the solution to your aches seems too good to be true, it probably is. It might be disappointing, but relieving joint pain can take weeks or even months, depending on your situation. It’s important that you learn proactive strategies to avoid damaging your joints, like physical therapy movements and strain-free exercise. The good news is that with the proper treatment, you can reduce your risk of developing additional concerns and have relief from your current ones in a healthy amount of time.

Surgery-free relief

I understand that surgery is no one‘s first choice. However, sometimes a surgical procedure is the best or only solution for alleviating joint issues. While it is possible to postpone or avoid surgery with certain exercises, supplements, and other strategies, the simple truth is that sometimes surgery cannot be avoided. Take comfort in the fact that not all joint surgeries are total replacements and that today’s technology allows us to be more precise with smaller insertions and quicker healing times than ever before.

Set it and forget it

When it comes to your health, ignorance is far from bliss. In fact, ignoring your pain can have dramatically negative effects.
