Give Yourself the Gift of a New Joint
- Posted on: Apr 15 2018
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my patients over the years, it’s that they really know how to live life to the fullest. My clients come from all walks of life, and their interests and hobbies range from hiking and biking to ballroom dancing and gardening. Several of them also enjoy hitting the road and exploring new destinations or beloved vacation spots year after year. Since many of my patients are senior citizens, we often talk about their plans for after retirement and their goals for celebrating milestones, like anniversaries and birthdays. It’s so great to see them embracing their age and treating themselves to getaways and time with family and friends.
Have you thought about what your plans are for when you reach that age? Have you considered how your hip and knee joints will hold up in the face of those plans? The truth is that the two go hand-in-hand pretty easily.
It’s my genuine belief that one of the best things you can invest in is yourself, and that includes your body and its various components. All too often, I encounter people who are held back by weak and painful joints. They want to see the world, but the chronic pain keeps them in bed. They want to spend time with their grandchildren, but aching joints make even the most beautiful moments less enjoyable.
Which of these categories do you fall into?
Sometimes, people are concerned that having a hip or knee replacement will require too much recovery time and set them back. While these are simply side effects of a life-changing surgery, they are certainly no worse than being held back from doing favorite activities because of old, worn-out joints. If arthritis has overtaken your knees or hips, causing chronic aching and impacting the way you live, perhaps it is time to consider investing in your future by undergoing a replacement surgery. Think of it as a birthday, anniversary, or “just because” gift to yourself –and your future self. After all, you deserve to feel great and live your best life possible.
In these modern times, there’s no sense in letting joint pain control what you can and cannot do. Advances in technology, including in my New York locations, have paved the way for innovative joint replacement procedures. This includes everything from robotic assistance for precision cuts and repairs to minimally invasive approaches that reduce scarring and shorten healing time. We are continually researching to uncover and implement revolutionary strategies for relieving people of hip and joint pain–and it’s making waves.
If you’re still on the fence or have questions about joint replacement surgery and your options, don’t hesitate to reach out. One of the best parts of my job is working with individuals who are ready to better their lives, and I would be happy to discuss any of your questions or concerns.
